I have 11 HF 15 watt panels and one 145 DM panel my question is this.....why could i not add all of the HF panels together to create 165 watts and then using a single cable from the combined HF panels to the single 145 panel to create a total of 310 watts.....i am not just putting all the panels on the same input.....i would be using two inputs and combining them together.....why would that not work????.....what would be the problem.....i know the panels are two different types and slightly…Continue
I was curious to see what type of batteries others use with their HF set up. I check this site almost daily, but it doesn't seem like there are any new posts or content.
I use 2 HF setups together with a sunsaver controller and 2 wally world deep cycle batteries and it seems to work work good. How about you?

I have a question
I have HF panels hooked up to Harbor Freight controller & controller shows consistent 12.06 volts. And doesn't go up or down when the sun is out or it's dark. What could be my problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Well Just looking back again. Finally got the wind turbine up. According to the wind charts I am in a low wind area. Wind Turbines were not recommended in this area. Haven’t had a single breeze since its been up. It is 24 volt and I have wired it a 24volt CC then into a HF 30 amp 12 vdc CC letting it make the 24/12 vdc Charging decisions (I don’t know if this works or not. No wind and this may be just a waste of a couple of hundred bucks but it was fun). Handcraft told me I did not need a…Continue

Hello to all.
I just bought a good radio with SW and Weather capabilities as well as am fm. It takes 4 D cell batteries to make 6V. I think I should be able to hook up the HF D Box to the without having to buy D Cells whenever they go. The radio has no 12V connection. Can I just hook the 6V output to the pos and neg sides of the battery compartment or is there some circuitry required.

I was just a typical Joe doing the life thing as most everyone else does. Work a job, acquire things, get married and attempt to build a life. I was in my late 20's and things were going well, at least I thought they were..
A couple of years later, me and the wife parted trails over stupid stuff. I've been in relationships prior to getting married and all fell through because of stupid, silly stuff. After my divorce, I became bitter about life in general and I wanted to make a drastic…Continue

I know some of you here like these panels so I thought I'd post this. I wouldn't personally buy it but I have not seen a better price for this kit.

Yes I bought the 12 bucks HF Clamp on. To my Surprise the Garage sale one was way off. The new one showed I was using only 40 Amps. The panels are replacing into the battery bank 80 plus. I feel a lot better about the setup now. I will be replacing more of my GS tools now.
