Over voltage

We run our off-grid home on 12 volts DC. All our lighting, fans, pumps, TV, DVD, laptops etc. Our batteries recommend that the absorb phase be 2.5 volts per cell, so that equals 15 volts. Equalize is recommended at 2.6 volts per cell, equaling 15.6…Continue

I've been a lurker here for quite a while.  I've played with my Harbor Freight kits and have learned quite a bit.  I've used the HF lights and charged devices during power outages. I'm finally ready to move up. I have accumulated 5 DM 145 panels,…Continue

HFKit to radio hook up

Posted by sl dl on February 26, 2015 at 5:47am 0 Comments

Hello to all.
I just bought a good radio with SW and Weather capabilities as well as am fm. It takes 4 D cell batteries to make 6V. I think I should be able to hook up the HF D Box to the without having to buy D Cells whenever they go. The radio has no 12V connection. Can I just hook the 6V output to the pos and neg sides of the battery compartment or is there some circuitry required.
